Chi Omega

A Little History...

The very first Chi Omega chapter was founded on April 5, 1895 by Dr. Charles Richardson, Ina May Boles,Jobelle Holcombe, Alice Cary Simonds and Jean Vincenheller at the University of Arkansas. Nu Zeta, Emporia State’s chapter of Chi Omega, was founded in 1961. We are the largest women’s fraternal organization in the world and have over 320,000 initiates and nearly 200 collegiate chapters.

What We Love About our Chapter

"I love our chapter because I know my sisters will be there to help me through my troubles and to celebrate my successes."

"I love our chapter because there are so many different personalities in one house."

"I love our chapter because every sister is unique and brings something special to our sisterhood."

"I love our chapter because my sisters make Emporia feel like my home away from home."

" Chi Omega means building relationships for a lifetime, growing as a leader, serving the community, and always being surrounded by women who share the same beliefs, values, and morals. I never thought I would be a part of a GreekLife organization, but I can say without hesitation that joining Chi Omega is one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. Chi Omega has genuinely changed my life in nearly every aspect--anywhere from my career path, to my faith, to building leadership skills--this Sisterhood has truly shaped me into the woman I am today."
